Think about it, your skin is the largest organ of your body and it is our first protection. What we put on our bodies affects us.  Your skin is like sponge and absorbs everything that you put on it or that it comes in contact with.  When you buy a product next time, look at the back and the ingredients that is it.  You will be surprised when you found out that most of them are very TOXIC, just like our household cleaning products.  If you are buying things just over the counter or at your local store it’s likely that the ingredients in them can be very harmful to your body.  Also be careful with high quality expensive brands, they can be just as bad or way worse.  They have linked all these toxins to serious healthy problems such as cancer.

You maybe asking yourself, how could this be?  How could cosmetic/beauty industry get away with putting all this junk in our products that we use daily?  Well, I have asked myself the same question and the answer is not a fair or pretty one.  You must know that that the beauty industry does not have to meet any standards when making their products and they are not regulated which means no one is watching or seeing what they doing with the products on the shelves. It’s really quite scary!

About 12 years ago I had the chance to listen to an amazing women who was  former miss America and she spoke out against the cosmetic companies.  Her mission is to educate others about the dangers and Toxins in personal care products, and this is when I became away of the dangers and learn about the TOP 12 TOXIC list. She spoke about people becoming sick with cancer, hormone disruptions, infertility, constant migraines, allergic reactions and other life-threatening diseases, in which parabens and other chemicals were possibly to blame, and they are in our everyday commercial beauty products.

Learning that by wearing makeup daily, I was subjecting myself to 5 pounds of chemical absorption into my body each year, in which, unlike food, it can remain inside of us forever was frightening, how did I not know about this? I was shocked. I had no clue.

This is a great book you can read too!

Incorporating essential oils into my beauty routine has drastically reduced my toxic load. Essential oils make it so easy to get the natural fragrance you want, all while adding a therapeutic benefit and other healing properties. It’s frugal, safe, and effortless to make your own products with essential oils.

This is has been quite the journey for me because, for as long as I can remember, I have loved all things fancy + glam. The bigger the hair and the brighter the lipstick, the more fragrant I was, the better it was to me. I never read ingredients nor paid attention to toxins in beauty products. Realizing I’ve countless years consuming slathering toxic carcinogens on my skin, I made a promise to myself that I would eliminate all of the bad products I was using. not sacrificing your health all in the name of beauty.

Before starting this quest to a more holistic life, I never thought it was possible to be both glam and GREEN, however I have learned that not only is it possible to find awesome performing non toxic products, it is not putting your health at risk.

I will never look back, which is why my new mission is to provide people with amazing Natural, Non-Toxic + Organic alternatives to maybe help inspire others to do the same.
