Oil Cleansing Method, the Ancient Method to Flawless Skin!
The skin care industry is a multi-billion dollar industry, and most likely you’ve contributed to their profits. But one of the best solutions for beautiful skin is simple, inexpensive, and easy: using natural oils to clean your face which breaks up the sebum and impurities in your skin. Sounds counterintuitive. In truth though massaging oil into your skin actually both cleanses the skin and naturally balances the skin’s natural oils. In so doing, it produces far more nourished and moisturized skin than traditional soap and detergent based facial cleaners. Finally, essential oils infuse the skin with skin-loving compounds and constituents that will make your skin scream … SKINTASTIC!
How Does It Work?
Cleansing your skin with oil dissolves the oil that has hardened with impurities and is stuck in your pores: oil dissolves oil. When done properly and consistently, cleansing with oil will clear up oily skin, dry skin, sensitive skin, acne problems and leave your skin healthy, supple, balanced and properly moisturized.
Oil Cleansing Preparation
The most common oils are Castor Oil and Olive Oil, though you can use any natural oil like hazelnut, sunflower, safflower, almond, avocado or even coconut oil. Castor oil is naturally astringent, so it helps pull impurities from the skin, making it ideal for oily or combination skin.
Mix your oils in these ratios according to your skin type though you might need to experiment to find your perfect ratio.
Oily Skin: 1/3 Castor Oil or Hazelnut Oil and 2/3 Olive, Sunflower, Grapeseed or Sweet Almond
Combination Skin: 1/4 Castor Oil or Hazelnut Oil and 3/4 Olive, Sunflower or other oil
Acne Prone: 1/3 Castor Oil or Hazelnut Oil, Sunflower or Jojoba oil
Dry Skin or Aging skin: Small amount of Castor Oil, 2/3 Olive, Sunflower, Avocado or Apricot Kernel

Here’s How to Do It:
In the shower or at the bathroom sink, pour a small amount of oil blend into your hand with a couple of drops of essential oils you choose, and massage into the skin on your face. Don’t wash first. With smooth circular strokes, gently massage into your face for at least two minutes or so until the oil has saturated your skin. No need to first remove make-up as the oil will do that. For deep cleaning of pores, leave on for up to 10 minutes.
Take a clean washcloth and place it under very hot water. Wring it out. Place it over your face to create steam against the skin. This will remove the oils and any impurities. Leave it there until it cools. Do it again if necessary. With the corners of the washcloth, gently remove any remaining oil. A very thin layer of oil will remain on the skin, which that is beneficial.
Oil Cleansing Tips:
Generally, no moisturizer is needed after oil cleansing. If you would like to you may put a little moisturizer on.
It may take a week or so for your skin to adjust. During this time, you may see more oily skin or more breakouts as impurities leave the skin.
You can do this as ofter as you feel it is necessary. Some people love doing it a couple times per week, others once per week and some only a couple times a month.I love this so much, especially doing it with the essential oils. Trust me your skin will love you!
